IFA 2025: 5 trends defining the future — and 1 that changes the rules

Berlin once again became the capital of consumer tech. IFA 2025 has gathered 1,900 exhibitors and 220,000 visitors from 140 countries: from industry professionals to influencers and tech enthusiasts. Berlin once again became the capital of consumer tech. IFA 2025 has gathered 1,900 exhibitors and 220,000 visitors from 140 countries: from industry professionals to influencers and tech enthusiasts. This is the materialized Zeitgeist, the spirit of our time, embodied in technology. Here, trends are set that will define the industry in the coming years..

The Breezy team also visited the exhibition and collected the main insights for you.

Artificial intelligence is everywhere

AI has ceased to be a “feature”, a fashion or proof of vision. Now it is a mandatory component of any product. From smartphones and home appliances to telecom services – all major brands have integrated AI into their new solutions.

Breezy recognized the potential of artificial intelligence in time. It has been an integral part of our trade-in assessment for over a year now. AI ensures the speed, accuracy and stability of grading, which is especially important for mass evaluation of devices

Minimalism in design

To ensure that nothing distracts users from the rich functionality that the equipment is simply stuffed with thanks to AI, minimalism reigns in the design: the equipment becomes “invisible”. Cooktops are integrated directly into the countertops, refrigerators merge seamlessly with the walls, and controls are minimized. The smarter the devices, the simpler their appearance. No glitter, curls, gold or bright colors. Only hardcore. Only concrete and zinc.

Home comfort on a new level

The unpredictable world around us makes comfort inside the home especially important. Technology is increasingly taking on the functions of restaurants, dry cleaners or movie theaters. Manufacturers focus on details: mini-drums for your favorite socks in washing machines, hobs right in the table, air conditioners that will provide the right temperature exactly when you need it. There is no revolution, but the improvement in user experience is obvious.

Dopamine factory on the couch

The more dynamic the outside world is, the higher the demand for fast and cheap (relatively) ways to get pleasure. The exhibition featured dozens of gaming solutions, as well as content creation and consumption. It is broadcast from the refrigerator door, from a companion robot, from huge TVs and directly from the wall thanks to numerous projectors.

We foresaw the growth of this industry, so this year we added gaming consoles to the list of equipment available for trade-in,” said Andrii Kosar.

Robots: from cute companions to industrial assistants

If robots used to be exotic, now there are more of them and they are more diverse, although they are still far from perfect. Home assistants sort things, play with pets and look after children; industrial robots perform repairs, soldering and packaging.

For Breezy, this is also a priority: robotic grading and upgrading of devices allows us to ensure stable quality and speed that meet global standards.

Sustainability: from trend to strategy

The main insight of IFA 2025: the circular economy has officially become the core of the industry. If environmental friendliness was previously perceived as a nice addition, today it is a full-fledged business strategy.

Regulations and the market

New EU laws, such as the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) and upcoming EU battery mandate, are forcing manufacturers to build repairability, durability and energy efficiency into the very core of their products. But many brands go beyond the minimum requirements.

Thus, JLab announced replaceable batteries in headphones and headsets, which will appear in 2026 – a year before the pan-European mandate comes into force. This will allow users to extend the service life of equipment by simple means, without a specialized service.

In Reseller Park, dozens of companies demonstrated repair solutions, spare parts and accessories that extend the life of gadgets. This confirms that “long device life” is becoming not an exception, but the norm.

Reusing materials in new technology has also become mainstream. One of the most active players in this area remains Samsung, a partner of Breezy. As part of the Galaxy for the Planet initiative, the company set a goal to include recycled materials in all new Galaxy mobile products by 2025 – and achieved it. Today, recycled aluminum and plastic, including from old fishing nets recovered from the ocean, have become part of Galaxy devices.

The Galaxy Upcycling, Certified Re-Newed and Trade-In programs show that for Samsung, sustainability is not a one-off project, but a systemic approach to creating electronics. Breezy is proud to be part of these initiatives and help make them a reality in local markets.

Why is this important

Circular models open up new opportunities:

• for manufacturers — brand strengthening and compliance,

• for retailers and telecoms — increased loyalty and customer retention,

• for consumers — affordable technology and participation in a sustainable future.

IFA 2025 clearly showed that the industry has reached a turning point: sustainability has ceased to be a fad and has become the basis of strategy. Our trade-in and device recovery solutions directly respond to this request. We are proud to have helped make the reuse of technology a new norm,” emphasized Andrii Kosar.

And if “green” approaches were previously the domain of niche brands, now it is simply impossible to remain competitive without them.

IFA 2025 clearly showed: the technologies of the future are built around AI, minimalism, comfort, robotics and sustainability. These trends are already shaping the market here and now. For Breezy, participation in the exhibition was confirmation: our course on automation, AI and sustainable solutions is completely in line with the global vector of the industry.
